Anwendung: Die Polierpaste wird an die rotierende Scheibe gehalten, bis sich etwas Material daran abgesetzt hat. Dann wird mit der Scheibe das Material poliert.
Die Abstufung erfolgt dabei nicht über die Pasten, sondern über die Scheiben: Sisal zum Vorpolieren, Nessel zum Polieren und Flanell (dann oft ohne Pastenzusatz) zum Glänzen.
Die Scheiben werden entweder über einen Spanndorn in die Bohrmaschine, oder auf einen Polierbock gespannt.
